We play social bowls from late March to September/October depending upon the weather. Monday to Sunday from 1 pm and everyone joins in. We enjoy competition between ourselves, we don't play in leagues but play friendly matches with other teams round and about. Everyone is encouraged to join in our competitions and to play in friendly matches.
We play bowls during the summer months (late March to September) and if you're new there's plenty of advice and help on offer to get you started
In the winter months some of us play snooker or table tennis using the rooms at St Peter's Church for which we pay separately.
Our social events include a fish and chip supper, a Christmas coffee morning in the Club House and our Christmas presentation meal.
We welcome visitors to come and see what we do. You can pre-arrange a visit by getting in touch or just call in. We play late March to late September. If you are calling in it's best to come after 1 pm Monday to Saturday when, generally, people will be playing. Members can also play in the evenings or Sunday afternoons.
If you are thinking of taking up bowls you can just call in but by arrangement is probably best. We have spare ‘woods’ that visitors may use. We don’t have specific people to train new starters but we do have experienced bowlers, that have trained folk before, who will willingly share their knowledge and advice with you. The best way to learn is to play. To learn the theory google “learn to play crown green bowls”
Beginners session are held most Tuesday evenings and most Thursday mornings at the beginning of the season. Ring John 07703 491279 for details
The membership fee for the Bowls Club is £50. At 3 pm on an afternoon during the bowls season we serve tea, coffee and biscuits from the club house at 50p a head.
There is a visitors fee of £3 per visit with a limit of 3 visits. (The £3 is refundable if you join)

Our members have a range of different bowling abilities; we are not all experts! If you're new to bowling you might want to play with people you know but soon you will be playing in our afternoon sessions when everyone joins in.
Our bowling green is in a pretty quiet spot, ideal for playing a relaxing game of bowls with other members and having a cup of tea in the club house (more)
